IEEE1394 (FireWire, i.LINK) video camera like SONY XCD-X710CR cannot be installed when plugged to the ordinary IEEE1394 plug. Windows marks "!" to "Generic 1394 Desktop Camera" in device manager. These camera needs a certain software, and the device driver is included in such software. You cannot still install the camera because the camera is IIDC protocol. You need to buy an IEEE1394 interface board which is suitable for IIDC protocol.
